Walk this way
Jessica's friend lent me a book about RBJ Nabisco's Leveraged Buyout in the '80s which was an entire flop. the buyout that is. Part John Grisham, part serious analysis of the thought processes going on in the firm this book by 2 Wall Street Journal writers is an interesting read into corporate culture particularly at the top: CEOs and board of directors. The more I read the more I really think I would like to be CEO. Probably very stressful, manipulative, full of shit but I think I would enjoy it. Something to think about.
Gwen and I were discussing what our greatest weaknesses were. She thinks hers is that once she loses interest in a project it's over while for me....I think it would be talking too fast and being nice. It's really true you know, if you want to get things done you can't be considerate of the other person or ever lack in confidence. I call it a systematic shortfalling of society. What puzzles me is how Singapore has done so well. Because most Singaporeans couldn't say boo to a goose. So how did LKY et al build up the I guess you could call it "suaveness" to deal with the rest of the world? Interesting puzzle. Maybe I'll figure it out if I ever get through LKY's memoirs.
