1)Talk about how you've always heard that Spore poly had a policy of creativity and flexibility to suit its students esp. in the highly volatile context of business and as such you're highly disappointed by this absurd inflexibility that goes totally against everything you've been told. Especially when you chose to attend Spore poly over nanyang and temasek because of spore's reputatation. Make 'em sound oldschool commie and not "creative" AT ALL. Talk about why you, a 10 pointer, decided to go to spore poly OVER nanyang yet you get this shit.
2)Talk about how you really feel you'll benefit more from overseas experience than a local internship. Then say that it is impossible for you to get an internship that starts Dec 12 as companies overseas do not start internships that late to the year end or make up some bloody german holiday/working schedule excuse. This one is more iffy, I'd just stick with 1 and hammer it in to them that they're complete assholes with none of their supposed "creativity", "flexibility", "student understanding" whatever keywords they mouth in their publicity brochures.
If that doesn't work, ask them, if I leave for this internship, regardless, what will happen?
