Lounging around in the sun

Fat chance

I don't have enough time to stuff in all the things I want to do in one day.

Saturday was fun, had a housewarming party where we made sangria and drank all night long. At one point, I was so smashed, that my friend passed me his empty cup with a few dregs inside and asked me where he should put it. I said never mind, tossed the dregs against the wall and put the cup upside down on top of a lamp. Oh well. Afterwards we went disco bowling at 2 am and I scored a spare for the very first time! My trick is using the 13 pound balls, I've got the muscles for it man, after carrying all those student groceries. Then we ended up at L's place eating pizza at 5 am. Don't really like her much, she's one of those sad people who get happy from being cool. Case in point, me: "Yeah, check out my pantaloons man, they're gonna be my pirate costume for the year!" her: "Oooo good choice, pants are really in now!" Nice girl, but since when did I care what's in or what's not. Then we walked (ran) back shivering in the pale dawn light and saw a RACOON eating CHIPS outside our door. So cool! First time I've seen a racoon. Then of course when we looked at each other me and Jess HAD to start cleaning at 7 am before we went to bed...There was sangria everywhere. On the floor, in cups, everywhere. Though the sangria on the wall was my fault. (See above).

Dad flew up from Vancouver this week and I had hectic time shuffling him around and work and school. Can't really tell the pater I can't see him on his 1-week visit because I'd far rather be holed up in the library somewhere poring over the breath-baiting tomes of econometrics. The pater also brought 3 BUCKETS of plums, nectarines and peaches from Okinagua valley in B.C. to keep me healthy which was very sweet yet also presented a sizeable problem. HOW am I going to get rid of the things??? So far Jess & I have had a plum a day (several in fact) and made peach crumble but we still have 3 bursting tins full. So....we're going to make peach gin. Yep, buy some gin, cut up the peaches, add it in and soak and make our own booze jar. For a little while we debated making peach wine/schnapps but that's too time-consuming. So our little moonshine still will have to be postponed to some other future time umhum umhum. I look forward to drinking peach gin on Halloween, quite the alcohol to get you in the mood, the peaches will look like pumpkins.

Chaired my first Council meeting today, didn't make too many mistakes, went off quite decently I felt. Even if I was barking at people because I felt nervous. I don't particularly want to reflect back on it though because too much reflecting will give me the heebie jeebies.

My crush is in my macro class this year and I can't help giving little peeks at him every now and then as our lecturer drones on and on about the income approach to calculating GDP...Eri think he looks beautiful. I think he'd look even better mine. Eri says she can tell I have a crush on him I just hope he does too. ;) Well not to the point that I make a total fool of myself of course. Good luck to me on that!
